Default WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE TB250?

Hey guys, need to know what you think about a TB250 for a 110lb, 5'2", woman?

A Buddy's Wife wants to get a Quad. In the past, she has ridden our Z250 and loves it, but she has some problems with her foot and in fact recently had her second opperation on it. Because of her foot troubles, I am trying to find out a little more information about the TB250. The Auto Trany would help her out a bunch.

She's not into big HP and going Fast. However, she wants to be able to go to the Dunes with us and be able to have fun and not be left behind. She doesn't like my KFX700, because it is simply to much for her (Too Fast, too Big), so she doesn't want a Polaris 400 or 500 for the same reasons.

Here are my questions.
1. How well does the TB250 work in the Sand?
a. With Paddles?
b. Without Paddles?
2. How does it handle hills?
3. Does the addition of a Pipe and Filter wake it up any?
4. How reliable are they?
5. What are its Good Points?
6. What are its Bad Points?

My experiance with Polaris has been with the Predator, Scrambler 500 and Sportsman 400, so I really don't have the answers for her to help her out. So any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Well I had one and I hated it. It didnt have any power unless the motor was cold. I never had it in sand though. And atleast mine wasent reliable. It was in the shop all the time. I suggest you get her a trailboss 330.

The TB 250 is a pertty good quad it tops out at 50-55mph...With the RCR stage 1 kit it really comes alive but still very controlable and reliable.. I am not sure about how it does at the dunes, i am pertty sure it would do fine with paddles and the rcr stage 1....

Hope that helps
good luck

Ok I am 31yo 6'1 225lbs. I used to ride a banshee for 8yrs but I my body just cant take it anymore so I was looking for a quad that fit me better and I just happened to come across a 2000 very clean Trailblazer for $1600. I figured I will never get the speed that I am used to but it can be moded to make it a better quad. I did tons of research to see what kinds of mods you can do and found out there are tons. In stock form it is pretty slow with the top speed of 50-53mph. Very reliable, comfortable, handles trails great,ok jumper, lots of ground clearance, and lots of suspension travel. It is pretty much a great quad for everything but racing. A pipe and clutch kit makes it a whole different quad. If your wife is 5'1 110lbs then the trailblazer would be awsome for her. Put on some paddles with pipe and clutch kit and she will have a blast. The TB is very capable of beating a 400/500 scrambler with the right mods. My top speed is about 67-68mph and it gets there quick. It is still very reliable. I have not had to do anything to it since I bought it even with the mods. I do mostly hill climbing and trailriding. Warriors/blasters cant touch me untill you get to the tight trails. Oh and the 04 LE trailblazers look awsome with the douglas wheels and special graphics.

i had a 2000 trailblazer and loved it (other than not having enough power). my wife is 5' 6" and she loved it too. it handled very good in the trails, but living in wv i am not sure about the dunes. i would think if she has a bad foot the full floorboards would be alot more comfortable then pegs. But from what i have heard the trailboss is more comfortable. just my 2 cents though.

If your wife likes the size of the 250 instead of the 400...then you will need to do about 1,800 dollars worth of modifications and you will have something that has more power and alot more fun to ride than the 400, because of the weight and feel..Other than that..the stock 250 will go anywhere the other quads will go except the tall hills....You have to be an aggressive rider to do it, because you can't be afraid to keep the throttle wide open all the time..I personally like the 250 when i go out bowling...I leave my hopped up 400 back at the camp. If you want more information about modifying the 250 get intouch with Dennis Shotwell (AZ BADBOYZ) he can hook you up...you won't be sorry

I appreciate all of the responces so far, keep them coming.

Just for clarification, it's my Buddy's Wife that is looking at the TB250. She saw the 250's when they bought their Son a Predator, but she doesn't know if it will meet her needs. So I told her that I would find out as much as I can about them and let her know before she lays down the money for one.

I can't gey MY Wife off of my KFX700 when we are at the Dunes, never should have let her ride it.

They do the dunes fine with a good set of paddles. Have them look at some 20x11x10 SandStars for it. It won't win many if any races in stock form, but they are very reliable and capable. She needs to test ride one for herself, but it sound like a good fit.
Edit: Bad points are it is heavy for a sporty 250 and it is not real powerful.

I had two at one time. One is a 99 and the other was a 00. I traded the
00 for a YZ125 for one of my boys. The 00 was still stock when I traded
it. They are a very reliable and dependable quad. They will go just about
anywhere the big boys will go!
