Default Spark Plug Concern?

I went to get a new plug for my Xpedition 425 this weekend at Advance auto and they did not carry a NGK plug for my ATV. So I ended up buying a AC Delco Rapidfire plug in the same size (which I didn't even know they made for 4-wheeler)

Does anyone have any experience with this plug in their Polaris? I have had them in trucks before (which they worked VERY well) but never in a 4-wheeler. It seems to work good (actually starts faster) but I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause any problems to my motor.

Thanks for the help!

As long as the heat range is the same and the depth of the plug is the same you should be ok. Performance wise you will have to give it time and see. Jay

Default Spark Plug Concern?

Thanks for the help! The plugs looked identical so I think everything fits well. As far as the heat ranges, I am still trying to gather information of the internet for both plugs (so far I have been unsuccessful). I have already installed the plug in my 425 and it seems to idle good and run good. My only concern is if the plugs are very different, will it burn up my engine etc.

Also, I decided set my spark plug gap to .032. I never could find what Polaris recommended so I reviewed some old post from various forums and found that gaps ranged from .032 to .036, and I also read that .032 would be better for cold starts in the winter (which I am having a serious problem with!)

Any more opinions?

Thanks for the help!

you can go to the autolite web page and look at their
catalog of plugs, they may have one for your Polaris.
I went there on Sat looking for a NGK but they only
had Champion and Autolite..

Thanks, I will take a look at the Autolite link. I think I will just stick with the rapidfire for a while and then replace with another NGK. The heat ranges shouldn't be that different. I guess if my motor gives me trouble than I will know

Good luck with your plug search and thanks for the link/suggestions.

Take it easy.....
