A limited slip differential can be Locked,
diss-ableing the differential function and locking the axles together.

Something's wrong with your bike. The hub shouldn't release until you're back on hardpack. If the bike were mine, I would check or replace the armature plate in each hub. The armature plate is a thin black washer with 3 little "ears" that protrude into the back of the locking mechanism. If one of those ears becomes damaged, the symptoms you're explaining can happen. The armature plate is very inexpensive(less than $3), and relatively easy to replace. If that's not the problem, then I don't know what is. I think that the magnet is either working or not--i.e., it doesn't work some of the time and kick back out intermittently. If you have further questions, let me know and I will try to help you.

Don't Be Silly Now

fourlix,

in regards to your first post. If Polaris could pull that off then it would be a "true" 4wd system!

Maybe some off the Polaris engineers will read this post & give them some ideas!
