popping chain on a scrambler ?????
#5
Definitely a loose chain, the noise is caused by the chain skipping over the top of one of the sprockets. Also, you may want to check your sprockets for "hooking", the wearing of the sprocket on the leading edge. As the sprocket wears your sprocket teeth will look like a wave cresting on the ocean. If it looks like this it is time to replace the sprockets and chain. Then you will be set for another 2,000 miles.
The wear ratio is usually two front sprockets for one rear sprocket.

Piggy, whatz-up? Those tention settings are pretty sensitive. That 2000 xplorer rider that I ride with keeps over tightening his chain and speed is reduced.(Due to Drag) So just tighten a wee bit and test. With they way you ride there's no telling what you've done! LOL Polcat
