FTR'S pipe
#3
The FTR pipe dyno report that I'm looking at shows that it makes it's "peak" hp at about 7,000 rpm. It's a most distressing report since it also shows their pipe going up to almost 7,900. No thank you. I don't need to tear down every weekend. The report shows about 28 hp @ 5,000 compared to a RcR "trail" pipe at 38 hp. at the same 5,000 rpm. Sorry, I've talked to these guys at FTR several times, but they don't show anything worth buying. Just because the pipe "looks" good and is skinny next to your leg, doesn't mean it's worth wasting your money.

Just because it revs to 7,900 does not mean that is good. Only if you make "more" hp up there and not less as their dyno report indicates. I'd rather turn a lot less revs and make the hp lower than tear up the piston, rings, and have to hone the jug trying to turn 7,000+ all the time, only because that's where the pipe makes hp. It's really stupid. The point is that their dyno report shows some definite flaws in the "so-called" power band. Just ask them for it. Kinda like when FMF had their dyno report showing a "stock" 400 revving to 7,000 rpm and gaining 1,000 more, with their pipe to 8,000. That does not work real well, for me, anyway. But, I'm sure there are those who will believe and buy. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.
