UPDATE- Polaris is putting in a complete 2004 engine in my 03 TLD Predator for me now, seems the dealer forgot to tell me they found metal in the entire engine after they took it for a rip after thinking they had the tranny fixed and had to replace a piston and etc...

Shift forks and engine case's are different I'm told.

A word to the wise - If your grips are even hinting at being loose cut them off and *glue* some new ones on now. I have a buddy who had his grip pull off on a local track, and as you can imagine it was not pretty - lacerated spleen, punctured lung and some nasty bruises...

The 04's are a perfectly polished performance machine! Then again, I'm still grinnin' like an idiot w/ my 03. There were some burps, but Polaris stepped up to the plate and took care of customers BIG TIME! Thanks for taking the risk of making this machine, Polaris. The 04s aren't completely fool proof yet!!!!
I got Mine on 11-2-03 and have ridin over 100 hours on it.I have followed every mantinace suggestion in the book and FOR THE MOST PART THE QUAD HAS BEEN GREAT!!!
BUT, as for any ATV it needs some upgrades.Since I have gotten the Predator I have had some Problems.
1st-was the brake lines-which I already wrote about (and the fix)
2nd- Those foot pegs and heel guards- they need to be bolted on different or the plate that the peg is welded to needs to be thicker.mine bent down and back on the shifter side (not from a wipe out, just bent, who knows why!)The heel guard tubing is weak.
3rd- The front A-arms need some upgrading-the upper a-arms need to be welded together at the top neer the bushings-the flex that happens to the upper arm makes the Bushing wear out QUICK-it is the lack of another support tube between the front and rear bushings on the arm that makes it flex back and forth!!ALSO the bushings SUCK-why can't they use something like what is on the Yamahas.
4th-The very weak steering post- it bends to easy- I belt mine just by riding very fast and hard though woops.
5th-THAT CHEEP *** Thumb throttle-face it plastic just shouldn't be used on a throttle-No one uses a plastic brake or clutch handle so why is the thumb throttle that way.
6th-CRAPPY PLASTICS-they just brake to easy-don't let anyone tell you that they are better in 2004 then 2003

That is about all of the things Polaris Should improve To this Very cool quad!!Don't take me the wrong way it is the best quad I've ownd and the best deal for the money. If polaris wants to top everyone it should take some of these problem And fix them for 05.
EIther way I would still by one !!!!
