mtpockets sp700 efi review

hey mt, you gotta keep us with even mt'er pockets updated on how great that new wheeler is!!!!
Have you gotten a chance to ride her much yet??? My dealer just got 2 in and has 4 more on the way!!!
I might just have to put mine up for sale and make the leap, the only complaint I've got with mine is
how badly that carb is calibrated, won't start and keep running cold, and will only occasionly run great
all day.

I was able to test drive one thismorning at my friends shop. It was about 18 degrees out and it started right up. The response is much better (almost instant) then the 03's and the power is there whenever you need it. I really liked the improvements on it. Now if I only had 7k to buy it!!!

great ATV so far! i'm glad i made the swap.
considering the temps around here have been -2 to -10 degrees, i haven't had a lot of opportunity to ride it. only 25 miles so far. kinda difficult to give you an in-depth evaluation.
i'd rather hold-off untill the Spring time MUD SEASON!! i wanna test it's deep-water capabilities and see how the EFI will handle all the abuse from mud and dust. i also plan on buying some BIG, HEAVY mud tires and want to see how much power loss, if any, there is with the EFI.
i can tell you that i owned 4 700s before this one. 1-'02, 2-'03, and 1-'04. (all color changes!!LOL)
this is my 5th and i like it by far the best so far. idles smoothly at all engine temps, excellent throttle response at ALL speeds, and it seems to take-off with a little more snap then my other 700s.
i wish i could add more......but that's all i have experienced to date.
Note: for some strange reason Polaris put a smaller gas tank in it. go figure! my old SP500 was 5.25Gal, my older 700 was 4.75gal, and now it's something like 4.35gal......hmmmmmmmmm
sincerely,

Ok now here is my question. Could this EFI technology be used on an older 700? I'm really getting to the point of, can we adapt it to Scramblers? I know you used to be able to use a Scrammy manifold on a 700 to fit a larger carb on it so can we get a 700 EFI to fit a Scrammy.

Sure it can be done but I seriously doubt you will like the price. After changing the head and cam, ordering the injectors, sensors, CDI, wiring looms plus a whole bunch of other stuff I'm sure I forgot. I would gestimate conversion at $5000. Lets just say it would be much cheaper to trade in your carbbed version.
