EJ,
$170 might be for a stock replacement fromm the dealer. Here is a link for Web Cams' 425/500 cam . I think this is were Aaen gets theirs from anyway. $155 with a $170 core charge. Make sure your core can be taken by them first.

fishslab Thanks! I just called them they seem really nice, they said they would take my camshaft core. They said the new camshaft would not have the compression release though. Im not planning on pull starting the thing agian but will this cause any problems for the electric starter? EJ

I honestly was wondering this myself. Did they have anything to say about that? It has been one of my hold ups in getting a new cam on my Scrambler. I asked my mechanic, his reply was he was not sure how you would start it up with all the compression. One thing that came to mind is since it is a long duration cam, the exhaust my hang open a bit longer making it easier to start. Just a guess on my part though.
Note that they also suggest a hi compression piston.

I will call them tomarrow, I dont think I can beat that 155 price from Web Cam though. Anyone know a good place to get a piston/ring set? I will ask Aaen tomarrow but is there any other good place to order from? EJ

While im waiting on my manual, can you all tell me if I have to use Polaris oil products for the engine and also the transmission or cause I use another brand? If so what type/weight for both engine and trans? EJ

Brad, just for informational purposes. I checked the grind specs from Aaens to Webs. This is on the Long Duration grind. They are the same specs. That's why I think Aaen is just gettin them from Web and reselling. No one likes Aaen more than me, but less money for the same product makes sense. Aaen may be willing to drop the price if you bring up the fact Web sells it cheaper. They have done that for me on other items I purchased through them. It's one of the reasons I keep comin back. As far as oil goes 0w40 synthetic for crankcase. Amsoil, mobil are other brands. And as far as tranny either Polaris or Amsoil chaincase lube.
