I would imagine that your stock pred feels stronger in the low end because the torque/hp curves with a stock bike are flatter than a piped one. As a piped bike climbs in revs, the hp gain over stock increases. The side by side comparison will show that the piped bike is faster throughout. However, because the pipe provides a high sloped hp increase, it will feel weaker on the bottom to mid than the mid and top.

This is true for most pipes on most quads. In a 2 stroke this is even easier to spot. We all should know about the lightswitch power of the banshee, and how it increases with the addition of a pipe as well.

Lay off the guy, he had a valid point. It was just not presented in the clearest manner.

HPD pipe gives you more power. The WB/pure polaris gives you a lot more power if you set it up right. (jetting, air box modifications) The HPD is a lot more expensive but if you are wanting to drag race it is the way to go. The Pure Polaris pipe will probably give you all the horsepower you will ever need on a MX track. The WB/Pure Polaris is a lot cheaper too.

maddog56, Thanks for the quality response! I have to agree with your assessment partially because it was so well stated and partially because I got spanked by my buddies pred both off the line and throughout the entire run Ignorance is bliss and far less costly. I am now going to have to explain to the wife why the account is a couple of bills short this month

Let me pop in here and put my 2 cents in.To go back to the Story about the 03 with the pure polaris Pipe(w/b) and the 04 stock.
The reason Why your 04 felt better on the bottom end is because IT IS.The tranny in the 04 is set up different from the 03. Also the swingarm on the 04 is shorter for more power to the ground.
THE WHITE BROTHERS PURE POLARIS PIPE IS FINE. some of yo are right with the right set p it could get a 5-7HP gain.
I took out the baffle and added 6 more discs that makes 14 discs. Some air box vents, 165main jet,AND,a K+N Filter.
This set up seems to be faster then Most with the same st up.I think its the 165 jet and the extra DISCS.
For now that is good and more than likely if my sponcer didn't Hook up the quad,I'd be buying a HPD PIPE.
SOONER or LATER I will GO all HPD with the engine mods and others>

If you do go with a predator, i would def run the LTE twins, they are awesome and look sweet to/// the entire kit is 800$ but well worth it. Also look into putting a JE, or wiseco piston in, valves, boondocker NOS, cdi, rectifier, k&n filter, and jetting, and run your front tooth at 13 and you might notice some power increase ( 10-15 hp tops)
