I also have a winch but haven't really noticed any particular speed comes on when I ride it pretty hard. Don't forget even though the winch is there it may cut down on air but do considered it also cuts dowon on the mud.

Hi polcat2 thanks for your reply. Do you have a winch mounted in front of your rad restricting the air flow? If the winch makes a difference I might consider making the winch removable so that it can be mounted front or rear. This way it would normally sit at the rear when it's not required. What do you think?

I own a 2000 polaris sp 500 at a round a 1000 miles mine started to overheat. If your cooling fan isn't turning on you might want to check this. Me and my uncle used the manual to test the thermo censor it was broken and the fan was drawing to many amps. the thermo censor is the part that kicks the fan on. Hope you have it fixed soon.

I would leave the winch in front (personally). Mine is in the front too. Just make sure than your cooling fins are clean on your radiator, fresh anti-freeze once in a while on the inside. Muddy radiators are the main cause of temp. troubles. in SP's(from my experiences) Have a safe 4th. later Polcat

If you have your machine jetted "correctly" you "must" rejet or you will have some major future problems. That's the point . . . most are not jetted corectly to begin with from the dealer. Sure, Polaris jets them rich like all the mfgr's do so people like you don't blow them up by doing exactly what we are talking about, like adding a K&N, without rejetting. Some just don't get it and wonder why the K&N doesn't do much.
