I believe it was the 42-38 helix. I'm back to what ever was stock on the secondary.

and that worked good with the small 250 engine?
didnt bog it down because it should shift way faster than a stock 40 deg helix
what spring did they give you with it?

what altitude do you ride at fishslab??

I ride at sea level to 3000' so far. I'll let you know on spring later, I'm not at home and can't remember. The roller set up really helped this little 250 stay in the power band much better. I don't know if it matters what companies' you end up buying. My guess is they all accomplish the same thing. Deal with who ever makes you feel most comfortable.

well I can buy AAEN stuff from a company in canada called royal distributing www.royaldistributing.com so most likely I will go with them
thanks for the great info about your rig!!!!
I'm waiting for the parts to show but I think I will go order the AAEN pipe
and inquire about a roller clutch and which helix to use up here I'm thinking the 36 or 40 deg ish area
going to try the yellow polaris srping first (slightly lower engagement and slightly lower full shift out RPM

I assume the spring you had in the roller setup was alot stiffer than stock

Yes it was stiffer. Let the guys at Aaen know exactly what you're up to. That is what I did, and they did not stear me wrong. Talk to Olav there. He is a little gruff and does not elaborate on much, but he is the man over there. He does have an appreciation of the Cyclone so that gets him talking a little. I was dealing with a gal by the name Elanna (spelling?). Very helpfull. I made some deals with them on returned items to really get the price down. You might inquire if that is necissary for you. I delt directly with Aaen.

got some springs comming from HPD they were way less money than the polaris ones and the helix was only 5 bucks more and it was easy to pick the helix I wanted
the dealer kept asking what year quad and so forth and so on (pain in the A**)
does anyone know where to buy a clutching chart showing all the springs and helixes cam arms etc...

well here is an update
I installed the cyclone parts
1 cyclonder and piston .080 oversized
cyclone head shaved .020
cyclone carb boot
34mm carb 190 main 30 pilot 400 needle and 0-4 needle jet
going to go to 25 pilot and 180 main and see it seems pretty rich on the bottom and the top end must be rich as I held it to the bar for about a half mile and the engine didnt really get too hot(at least not enough to turn on the fan

It ran awesome during my initial road test pulled hard and was way faster than stock
I had a couple problems the HPD green primary spring I picked out had the perfect engagement but I couldnt shift it all the way out
but it allows the engine to rev higher so my top speed was good
I put the OEM spring in blue/green and I dont like the engagement but I shift out all the way
I'm going to try a couple shims under the stock spring and see what happens
and finally when I put the plastic back on and the air box it really started to suck!!!??! So I will be looking at the air box this weekend I will start by cutting off the long extension which I think is just for noise reduction
