Default 600 2003 sportsman backfire

first of all i am glad to be a new member. i think this site is great. i know there were similar questions about the 600 spuddering. this problem is kind of like that. i have tried those solutions but had no results. the machine will start spuddering and it doesn't want go full throtle, then it will backfire and take off and run ok for a while. it kind of sounds like it's loading up? could it be a bad coil? i tried changing the plugs too but had no results. i would be greatfull to hear any imput.

if this problem is only happening on the top end then it is most likely your jetting. if you think it is too lean then go up in the main jet a size or two...if it is to lean you defininently don't want to be running it. being cold out also leans out machines.
