john deere making 4wheelers now?
I work for John Deere and I know how they work.....they are getting into everything! From power tools to garden seeds, if they can make money at it they will. Soon your local John Deere store will look like a Wal-Mart!
As far as their Ag machinery being overpriced and overated.....if you have ever owned a John Deere you wouldn't think that anymore. John Deere is one of the few companies that has not merged or been bought out (Case IH and many others)
Will they sell? Not sure, but my dealership has chose not to sell them as of now due to the fact that we have plenty of ATV dealers around. John Deere used to make snowmobles....maybe this will be a short lived deal too?

Well, our operation has owned Jonn Deere in the past. And in the early 90s went to Case IH, and has been there ever since. My "neighbor" is pure John Deere, and from what ive seen over the years- from both red and green- they are in my opinion, a little over rated. And over priced. They both break down and for years you could buy the same rated HP red tractor about 20k cheaper. You have an excellent point about the constant merging. Maybe ill start calling my IH "Caseirnationnewford". Dont get me wrong, JD puts out an excelent product. Its just my opinion that sometimes you pay a lil xtra for that green paint. Wether it be a grasscutter or a combine.

Whitedog....I do agree with you, some John Deere's are overpriced (just like some ATV's) The farming world is changing fast, hard to tell who will be around 10 years from now.
All I can say is the John Deere ATV's should be faster then John Deere Gators!
