Default sport 400 drive clutch noise

I have a 99 sport 400. I just replaced the belt. When I had the cover off I noticed a noise coming from the drive clutch when I started it (just to see how the clutches work before i took the belt off). After I took the belt off I started it again. The noise was coming from the drive clutch because the driven clutch was not moving (no belt). Does this mean i have to replace the buttons? Im new to polaris and this is only my second quad.

Another question is about reeds. Should I replace them? I bought this used and only had it since say Sept. 2003.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bob

Just clicking noise. I asume its from the clutch. It stops when you give it gas.

If it's not real loud you are fine. The fly weights are probably just tapping the rollers. The buttons are in the secondary(driven).
