Rebuit Rear Caliper Break-In?????
#1
I rebuilt my rear caliper a day or so ago because the brake was not releasing on the rear brake (7 years old). The caliper is not sticking like it was but there is still a drag in the rear brake. The new pads are thicker and I am wondering if they need to break-in / seat themselves to the rotor???????
I put all new O-rings and piston in the caliper.
Brake line problem?
Adjustment?
Anyone that has rebuilt a rear caliper please let me know if you have experienced simlar results.
Chopper Bill what do you think?

That may be it. I will check that this afternoon. You said it should have alot of play??
I think the pedal (mechanical) is adjusted with very little play? I will check it first.
Thanks a million for the tip.

Answered your post at home and didn't have the specs. Loosen the lock nut behind the **** on the caliper turn **** in till it meets resistence and back out 1/2 turn and tighten lock nut. I like to back out a little more for more free travel to asure it doesn't engage when it gets hot.
