I was actually thinking that as well hosed. Its the same setup with the Raptor. It requires vaccum, and when it can't get the required amount of vaccum the slides can't operate as they were intended to. I've often wondered how/if they resolved that issue with designs like Rath's mod?

i dunno.. but as much as i hate it... the airbox is going back on when shes all together.. i new something wasnt right about my machine... i thot something could have happened when my tranny blew (when going back together).. but i put on my clamp on right before it blew so i never noticed the difference before.

I'm thinking the best thing to do will be to make sure the filter is seated right(maybe shave the lip alittle if neccesary), and put some vents in the box. It seems like the only way to keep the vaccum right with the stock carbs. Only other option is the CFM airbox, and well........I just shelled out $6000 for this quad and don't have an extra couple hundred to be throwing around for an airbox, when I already have one. lol.. ditto.. i aint spending that much on an airbox...
i got the 6 vents in my airbox already... my problem was my carb boot ripped near the carb.. i put some electrical tape on it and it worked great.. i just get mad because there is always dirt in it.. imma try greasing it tho.

Not trying to sound like a smart *** here, but you don't think that could've come from the torn air boot do ya? Definately sounds logical to me......Man Hozed I really feel for ya man. You seem to have run into alot of probs with your ride.

the dirt was always there... thats why i ordered the clamp on... my clamp on was actually on order when it ripped...
ive had alot of little things wrong with mine... most of them not too big of a deal.. i get parts really cheap so it hasnt been too bad. still a hassle tho.

Has anyone tried the Foam Filter drop in? I wonder if it has any better of a sealing lip?

Yup, white brothers makes one, and I believe uni-filter does as well. Check out Rath racings site, as well as Rocky Mountain's.
