Default Pred K&N drop in filter leaks?

I was looking into getting the std replacement K&N filter for my Predator, and had heard that they leak around the seal. Any of ya'll have this problem, and how did you resolve it? Thanks in advance.

Buy a tube of the K& N Grease and run a bead around the filter- problem solved.

Thanks Graffer. I had figured I'd probably go that route also. When I had my dirtbikes with the foam filters I always just put a swipe of grease around the sealing lip.

Anyone else have any ideas/tips?

Have you noticed any breaks in the airbox. My nephew has cracked his. Landed hard, split around the lid about 1 inch below top. Did an emergency fix with duct tape.

the pred airbox is horrible.. bottom line...
mine leaked all over the place.. i always had some dirt in it.. then it ripped up near the carb... got myself a clamp on.. and will never go back.. it stop ALL dirt going in and gets rid of that ugly airbox.. i suggest just gettin the clamp on.. its the same as the drop in and includes a outwear that stops most dirt

That's the right number. The drop in K&N works fine, you just have to take your time installing it, and make sure to seat it properly. Pay attention to the details and they work fine.

Thanks Hozed, when we finally get around to pricing a new air box, I'm sure he'll go to the clamp on.
