SPORTSMAN 400 4X4?
#1
i was looking at a used 96' sportsman 4x4, everything seems good, suspension, engine size, 2wd and 4wd, but it is chain driven and not shaft, is this an issue? i just need to know if this is a good quad for $2800

I have a three chain 1998 Xplorer and the chains are fine. I am not sure about the going price for a 96... Check the sprockets as mine wore out last week. I owned a 1994 300 up till about a couple months ago and it went fine. It does not compare to the newer models but was still a good reliable quad. Wait and see what some of the experienced Polaris owners have to say...
Good luck...
P.S. do not listen to b.tracker as he is about 13 years old and does not own a polaris...

Don't listen to Beartracker_250. He is a retard. He's like 14! Anyway I had a friend with a 96 and it did fine. Also my friend and his girlfriend rode together. Gross weight of the two was around 600lbs. They are fine machines.

Just because u are 13 does not mean u dont know anything, but if you dont own a polaris u should not comment about them.
