If you are going to just trail ride than in my opinion the power max would not be the way to go. The power max works the best when you are going ***** to the wall. You probably wouldn't ever use the power valve.

i would love to have that mod on a 400....even if its just for trail riding, some of the time, might not even use the powervalve....but on the straightaways, i would love to just crack the throttle.....like i do with my 125rm....always fun just hanging on with the knee's while blazen through a trail, haven a nice reserve of power for those fast parts in the trails...or when riding with a friend....

LET ME PUT MY 2 CENTS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been the Scrammy test Rider now for awhile now and all I can say is :::::THE 416 powermaxx would be TOOOOOO MUCH FOR A SCRAMMY FRAME!!!!!!!!!!! Beleive me I would love To feel the power of this set up BUT,I know it's too much power!!! You can say what you want about Using the throttle BUT, it is Made to be "RACED" Not tooled around>
I have the Full HPD Race kit(75Hp) in my 2000 scrammy and it is NOT PRACTICAL for Tight tail riding or trails with lots of turns and bumps.IT is made for racing wide open on straighter trails or open sand pits.YOU just would be on and off the throttle too much With anything more. The 75hp kit is just pushing the limit of real world trail riding.
THE LAST THING TO THINK ABOUT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I DO not care how much money you spend on the shocks and supension IT CAN NOT TAKE THAT MUCH HORSEPOWER. I HAVE BEEN THOUGH 2 frames since owning the 75 hp kit and need a new one now again!! I just can't Fathom 85 hp in the stock frame.HPD really made the powermax 416 for there race frame not the scrammy frame.
Also darryl AT HPD WILL TRY TO TALK YOU OUT OF IT ANYWAY!
HE tried to talk me into the Trail port over the 75hp race kit. I JUST WOULDN"T HAVE THAT,BUT sometimes I think I should have listend to him.

NA!!! BEATING BANSHEES IS TOO MUCH FUN!!!

Matt you could always reinforce the frame...its been done before. I personally love powervalves....I can literally be cruising along at 50 mph with my sled and when I hit 6500 RPM and they open all the way you can wheelie it at 50...and this is only a 500, medium on the food chain. I honestly dont know what you all mean by too much to handle I really like the powerband on the Race Mod its smooth, not peaky and is nice and long, with lots of usable power, and another grand for 10 HP is quite a bit. I think the powervalve does kick in a bit early, but if it is the RAVE style where it is controlled by exhaust gas output then it would be constantly moving anyways. Itd be fun but probably deadly. I was thinking of just the trail mod kit, but I get more HP and its fun for a while, but once I get used to it I want more anyways, so why not just skip to the big one. Really all I wanna do is stick it hardcore to my Honda riding buddies...deffinetly be awesome to drag race my buddies crf 450 powered housier frame mxer and give him a run for his money, or beat him. I think really I just wanna be able to say "Oh, come on its only a polaris"

HPD's powermax 416 works great. Better bottom end power. I installed one in my scram in fall.
I am thinking of selling the motor or bike complete. (I'm building a DVX600 with a sled engine),and just bought an EFI 700SP. Somethings gotta go.
I'd sell the whole engine(complete with rebuilt bottom end),cyl, piston, pipe, carb,.for 2000US. I still have the race mod engine to put in the bike with a couple of heads,to sell the bike.
E-mail me if interested. Engine only has about 50-60 drag passes on it.

You guys have no weilding skills or what??? Reinforce that pos then youll be fine. I honestly dont think race mod would be too much as long as I keep the wheels down, just get a 3 extended swingarm, i dont ride anything technical anyways. The powermaxx should give awesome bottom end with powervalve. Hey helix what sled engine????
