I finally got away from spanking the monkey and beating the penguin for long enough to wonder about this kit....its price is actually not that bad so I thought about saving up...would this be too much for feild blasting and high speed trail riding??? It is 85 HP. Anybody know anything about it or have expierence with it?? J/W

(pauses the penguin game)
thats alot of power for a trail bike.. probably too much for what you really need.

I figured they put a throttle on there for a reason.....to control speed. Id do a lot of body and suspension work to it first. I just plain like the idea of having a powervalve, when it hits that rpm at 40 mph and the valves open you could literally wheelie over backwards at 40....fun
i think the bragging rites alone would be worth it

you asked.. i gave my opinion.. dont come back at me with wise a$$ remarks about a dam throttle...
for the type of riding you say you do... 85 HP is not needed.. although the idea of having it is cool.

Easy people! If I had the race mod to do over again, I'd go w/ the powermax. Those of us with the older "new style" pipe have too much into our machines to change everything including the pipe. Darryll worked for a long long time to perfect that setup. It rips. The one thing tho think abou tif you want to go race mod is that the powervalve is there for a reason. It really helps widen the power output. I ran my sport with the HPD trail pipe, high compression, 39pwk, and on race gas up in the mountains one time just for the hell of it. I can tell you that it was fun as hell. You could come around the corners at 20 or so and wheelie up and have a blast roosting everything. For most people that would have been way too much bike for the woods. Not to mention that your going to add 25-30 more HP with that setup. Honestly the full HPD trail mod is a perfect trail riding all-around combo. Power from bottom to top and not too high engagement for hill climbing. The race mod engagement could get you into trouble if you have to slow climb much. Dont get me wrong, for the most part it would be a blast, but could get you into trouble on occasion. Just my .02.Bubba
