Default Where did you mount your contactor

I'm mounting a Warn 2.5 winch on a 99 Sportsman 500. I'm having trouble finding a good spot to mount the contactor. It sounds like others have mounted it in the tool box. I'd rather not. Is there any other spot that you've found works well? Thanks,

Jim

I mounted it under the front hood (under the rack) on the metal cross member between the radiator and steering post. I just had to reverse the cables since it was set up to put the contactor in the rear. Just use the red one and black one where the instructions say to use the yellow and blue ones. The cables are same gauge just different lengths and colors. That's on an 03 700 by the way.

I just mounted a Ramsey 2500 and put the solenoid in the same spot as Range Rover. The Ramsey had special instuctions for the Polaris
machines. You just screw it down good and tight to the cross member under the hood. Good Luck.

Thanks Guys. I mounted it under the hood and reversed the wires as suggested. It worked great. I took it out and buried it in a deep snow drift, climbing a pretty steep hill. Hooked it to a tree at the top and pulled myself right to the top of the hill. I think I was physically excited when I got to the top of the hill!!!

Thanks again!
