Super

I have a Warn 2000 winch and I really like it. I bought it primarily for the snowplow (which wouldn't help you much in SC), but I have used it a few times to pull out some Honda's from the mud. (Not trying to start a war here, but it is true). Are you installing it yourself? I did it myself. Only takes a few hours. Be sure to wait till the hotest day of the year to install it like I did. Much more enjoyable that way LOL.

Also, get or make yourself a small strap to rap around other atv's so when you pull them out, the hook on the winch doesn't get twisted around trying to hook the hook to the cable.

Yep. I plan on installing the winch myself. I usually ride with one other guy who rides a Bayou 220 and I am constantly pulling him out with a tow rope (which makes me get all muddy too after I went through cleanly on my quad) but now I'll just make him hook it up and all I'll have to do is turn a switch. I have a few jobs for it around the farm, also. Thanks for the input!

You will wonder how you got along without it. You can use it for for many other tasks. Get yourself a snatchblock, just in case.

Works great for stringing and tensioning wire fencing as well as straightening fence posts.

I'll never own another 4x4 without a winch.(mine is only the 2000A) I helped my neighbor pull a dead calf out of it's mother. We couldn't get it by hand. I use it ever time I ride seems like.
Just a suggestion, I keep a "doubler"(a pulley and hook) in my dry-box. That allows you to almost double your pulling power. Comes in real handy.

No problem. It is worth repeating. I had a nursery guy tell me he wanted several hundred dollars to dig up some large shrubs. I told him I would have it done by lunch. He just needed to come plant the new ones. He said it would take a day with two guys to dig them up. So, I winched them up in about 2 hours. Thanks Mr. Warn! The winch paid for itself and another.

TxDoc2,I would feel safe to say that "dollar for dollar" A winch is the best accessory or item for atv's by far! It takes the work out of almost any job.(As you proved) My line is literally worn (not Warn) out! I've used it so many times. My original kit didn't have a roller fairlead, and I used it like that for months, that's how my cable got trashed. I may need to replace that cable soon....I might get a giant "Bruiser" (big ole buck) this year! (Please,no one hold your breath!)LOL later Polcat
