You want something to pull a deer out of the woods and you are looking at a Scrambler or Predator?????? Predator isn't even 4x4. You need to look at a different class of ATV's. I love the 4x4 400 Scramblers and even plan to get one in a year or two but if you want something reliable you might want to look elsewhere too.

a 17grand scrammy or sport400 416 powervalve guy won open a mx championship he had a 400 sport beat everything got the hole shot 4 out of the 6 motos he had a ds 650 with a lot of mods gave it to his friend because it was to slow you can read about it in the december or january 2003 dirtwheels

THIS GUY NEEDS HELP ON FINDING THE RIGHT QUAD,COME ON GUYS WHO CARES IF A SCRAMMY 400 IS FASTER THEN A PREDATOR 500.

I think if money is not an issue then I would Still say you should forget about the scrambler 500 and try to get a SPORTSMAN TYPE quad. DON't get me wrong the scrammy 500 is a good quad and it has alot of parts including racks for carring THINGS.BUT, those SPORTSMAN quads come with everything you need to go hunting.ALSO if your looking for some speed out of a SPORTMAN,.THE EFI 700SP is about as fast as a stock YAMAHA RAPTOR(no **** I"VE seen one spank a raptor)
If money is the problem the 500 scrammy is,-- I guess the best Choise.
ONE LAST REASON WHY I wouldn't buy a scrammy 500 04 is because The 04s have been down graded BY POLARIS.They JIPPED everyone by putting on a CHEAPER rear shock.That lessend the travel of the rear swingarm.IF a scrammy 500 is what you want go with a used one from 2000-2003 .
