Default Is it just me, or is the predator seating position extremely awkward?

I was checkin out a polaris predator today at my local dealer and i seems like a great quad, from what I hear, it handles better than nything out there along with good power to match, but the one thing that turns me off about it is the seating position. It just doesn't seem right, like the handlebars are too low or the footpegs are in the wrong place, anyone else notice this problem? The predator seems like a great quad and I am even tempted to sell my EX to buy one and I might just do that if I can find a good deal but I won't buy something thats uncomfortable. So what I am asking is: do you get used to th unusual seating position? is there anything that can be done to correct it?

I love the way I sit on there, the only complain I have is that my knees hit the little black pieces around the fuel tank.

i know what your talking about i work at a polaris dealership in concord, CA. And my friend rides a 2003 which sits very nicely and when i ride the 2004 it does seem more awkward. My friend with the 03 runs tag t2 handlebars and they seem to situate you good. So i would say a little change in handlebars and your set. It really is a great bike i have taken the 03 and 04 many a times and nothing compares to handling on this. It sits way low compared to top heavy ds's and raptors. and the power will spank em all too!

you will get use to it.. when i bought mine i didnt like it much.. but within a week it felt great...
the new honda is supose to be the most comfortable race quad... the yfz is out of the picture in the comfort area... unless your idea of comfort is a rock hard seat and low handle bars.

The scrunched up feeling can be resolved with a taller bar. I never noticed it being tight in the ergos', but I'm also 5'10" and only weigh 150. So I'm not a very big rider. The thing I complained the most about(at first) was the "pocket" that the seat has up towards the gas tank. It kind of encourages you to stay up at the front all the time. Nothing unbearable, you just have to try alittle harder to get past that "pocket" in the seat. A flatter profile seat ala' Yfz/Trx, and I would call it PERFECT! Now if only we could make it loose about 62lbs............ Honestly, I think this is a great "do it all" quad. It has proven itself as a solid performer in GNCC's, and TT racing, and there are actually some running around in the Pro GNC MX series. I would strongly recommend it over your 440. The only thing will be if you plan on racing in a 440cc class you'll have to downstroke it.

I sold my predator because of the odd seat and ergos.I bought a set of tag bars and it only made a slight difference.I bought a Z400 and love it.

THERE IS WEIRDNESS TO IT BUT AFTER YOU RIDE IT ,IT MAKES SENCE THAT IT IS THE WAY IT IS.While riding the predator you spend more time sitting down then any stock quad i have riden. When tooling around in the trails you get put up on the seat but,it helps you to really get the most out of the handling. That pocket allows you to move around from side to side easy when coming into a turn. IT has been set up that way .that pocket has alot to do with the sliding of the quad, rather then high siding.
FOR high speed Riding t is also great, because when you get back in aggerresive riding stance the seat is right there under your butt.IT is almost like you are sitting down and the closer you get to acually sitting the better the quad soaks up the bumps.
SO you see the seat wasn't just made to look odd or cool.IT has a function,it was designed that way for preformance.
AT frist it is odd ,but, after riding it you realize how it really helps insted of hindering you.
ALSO , YOU should all remember that it is a race style quad-NOT some plushy,slow,trail,400ex.
IT ALL ABOUT PREFORMANCE
