Tire slime for ATV
#1
It's not tire slime but works the same way, I forgot what the name is. I heard it's the best on the market, so i bought some. But I'm affaid to use it now. I don't want my tires to be out of balance. Have you guys used this, and are your tires out of balance? Thanks

ya I had to slime my front tires on my scrammy...no problems at all..I just slimed them and right after that..rode around in the yard...kindof levels everything..but I find no imbalance...rides the same as before..so you shouldn't have problems

I slimed all 4 tires and a few weeks later got a real bad vibration at 40+mph. The stuff works great, but threw the tire balance off for me. Ask the sport riders the same thing, and they will tell that it caused a tire inbalance at high speed for them too. I not saying that it happens to everyone, but it did for me and now I have to remove the tires and clean them out. Oh well, good time for some Douglas .190's

Hi, I asked this same question about 3 months ago on this forum. I got mixed replys on this. Some said it was great, and others said they had trouble with vibrations at faster speeds and deterioration on their rims. I went with plugs.

If you're riding trails, you probrably won't notice the out of balance thing. I have it in my Boss, but not the Blazer. When it's time for new tires, I'll clean the rims and just stick to plugs. The slime worked ok, but when I got a cut on the tread, the slime didn't seal it and a plug did.

I put slime in all four tires 18 months ago after one tire kept losing air. Haven't had to add air since and almost all are tough miles. I'd say less than 40 of those 600 miles have been on an open road, less than 10 miles on pavement. My point is I love the stuff, but I do get a significant shake/vibration in the front end at speeds over 40 mph that I didn't get before. It's a trade off, for me it was worth it. I rarely ride above 40 mph and after all the stuff I've been thru, all my tires should be flat. About the only thing it won't seal is a large cut in a sidewall, (which luckily, I haven't had yet) but then again, what will?
