I suppose if you're riding a Scrambler, you might be riding in areas where you could or would go fast. As for a Ute, the only time I'd hit 40 plus mph is on a smooth beach (which is illegal here, only 15 mph is allowed) or on a straight away on the dunes or on the trail and I would question whether or not you could notice much vibration with the bumpiness of the trail. I sure haven't, so I'd go for the protection versus the very infrequent "go fast" periods.
