03 700 problem
#1
Today I was just putting around on a few trails around the house and I climbed a small hill slowly in low and when i got to the top i went to put it in high and the shifter moves all the way forward and all the way back freely. Luckily the atv was still stuck in low so i managed to get home. Any suggestions on what to do now? tHanks in advance

Saw that i need a new shift shaft and bellcrank. My 700 has been extremely hard to get out of low this past month and i know that pushing and pulling to hard on the shifter has caused this to strip. Does anybody know of a reason that would make it shift hard and if so what to do about it?

I tried adjusting the idle down and had it down to around 720 to 750 and still hard to shift. When the engine is off there is no trouble at all with the shifting. I've also found that it is always harder to shift out of Low than anything else, and sometimes it won't even come out?

Took the belt cover off and noticed that in neutral the belt is still fully engaged when at an idle. This is what is causing the difficulty in shifting. Has anybody had any experience with adjusting this so that it deengages at an idle. I've never worked with the clutch on this before. I figure the problem is with the driven clutch not being properly aligned in some way. I can push the belt down in the sheaves then start it and it functions properly but then when I let off the gas it stays engaged. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've tried the idle thing to, that's not it
I also noticed that when you turn off the bike it's easier to shift.
There must be something with the clutch and or belt
I have the heelclicker clutch with the stock spring.
What is yours set up?
