A 700cc twin in a Sportsman would be a very big mistake.....
Double the engine parts?....more cost....
Cooling?....bigger radiator.
Weight?....more parts equal more weight.
Cost?....more parts equal higher cost.
Reliability?....more parts for dirt to get into and destroy.
Twin exhaust header?....re-design the exhaust?
Twin carbs?....challenging to tune.
Tranny?....direct bolt-in, or different from current PVT?
Starter?....Heavy duty starter for tuning over a twin.
Uses more gas?....Add a bigger fuel tank?
Engine braking?
700cc twin is a bike motor?....Will it have reverse?
There would be too much re-design to simple stuff a 700cc twin into the frame. Would it even fit?
If so, you are probaly looking at a $10k dollar quad.....That's pretty steep.

no I'm not jealous you ****! I also own a sp500 so if I want to kick the rancher's a** I guess I can use my own bike to do it. I know because the 2001 brochures are being made right now and there is no mention of an sp700, period. Now I hope that all fits into your tiny brain. I believe that 700 engines are being made and perhaps they will initially go into scramblers but I don't see it for 2001 but maybe I'm wrong, jealous - NO.

no question about it, the sp500 needs a diet already. This quad is famous for overheating and eating brakepads, tierods, etc. What's going to happen with this bigger quad?
I'd be willing to bet the 2001 model of the sportsman will be the sp500 H.O. - any takers??? I feel fairly confident the initial writer of this story hasn't seen a sp700 twin, but if you all want to believe him thats your business.
