Hell ya! It may not even be 4x4 which is even better for sport. And maybe, just maybe, it will be a 2 stroke. If this happens Yamaha and Cannondale are in BIG trouble! Lol, I can't wait to see the action unfold!

One of polaris's main business offices is on 169 just a little north of maple grove/osseo area. Maybe he broght it down to show some big wigs or bring it to some top engineer to inspect or something like that. rangerchet

I don't doubt that you saw it but believe me the sp700 will not be here for you or I to buy in 2001, this thing is at least 1 year away.

What's the name of the dealership?
What's the name of the salesman/owner?
How does the truck driver(who probaly doesn't even work for Polaris)know that it burns up belts?
Why wasen't the ATV in a crate while under transport?
Sounds like quite a tall tale......

rancheres how dou know that?? they are allready making the 700cc engines in wisconsin. if they arnt going to release the machine for another year like u say, then why would they already be making the engines??
arnt u the one that said that you know that there would not be a 700cc engine?? well its true.
do u not believe him that he saw a sp700 or are u jealous that it will kill your rancher??

rangerchet im not trying to contradict u but i thought that polaris moved its corporate offices to medina MN. which i think is just west of minneaoplis. or maybee its just a extra office.
i believe that i saw that polaris move there offices on ATV magizine's website. (ehleartpowersports.com)

A 700cc twin in a Sportsman would be a very big mistake.....
Double the engine parts?....more cost....
Cooling?....bigger radiator.
Weight?....more parts equal more weight.
Cost?....more parts equal higher cost.
Reliability?....more parts for dirt to get into and destroy.
Twin exhaust header?....re-design the exhaust?
Twin carbs?....challenging to tune.
Tranny?....direct bolt-in, or different from current PVT?
Starter?....Heavy duty starter for tuning over a twin.
Uses more gas?....Add a bigger fuel tank?
Engine braking?
700cc twin is a bike motor?....Will it have reverse?

There would be too much re-design to simple stuff a 700cc twin into the frame. Would it even fit?
If so, you are probaly looking at a $10k dollar quad.....That's pretty steep.

no I'm not jealous you ****! I also own a sp500 so if I want to kick the rancher's a** I guess I can use my own bike to do it. I know because the 2001 brochures are being made right now and there is no mention of an sp700, period. Now I hope that all fits into your tiny brain. I believe that 700 engines are being made and perhaps they will initially go into scramblers but I don't see it for 2001 but maybe I'm wrong, jealous - NO.

no question about it, the sp500 needs a diet already. This quad is famous for overheating and eating brakepads, tierods, etc. What's going to happen with this bigger quad?

I'd be willing to bet the 2001 model of the sportsman will be the sp500 H.O. - any takers??? I feel fairly confident the initial writer of this story hasn't seen a sp700 twin, but if you all want to believe him thats your business.
