Does anyone know if a 1996 Polaris 400 4x4 Scrambler Motor will fit on a 1996 Polaris Magnum 425 4x4 Frame?

 

if it doesnt fit right just start cutting and welding and eventually it will work

 

it should fit with no problems...but if anything gets in your way cut it off.......

I stuck a TB250 engine into a Sport 400 frame - it wasn't difficult, but a few mods had to be made - the biggest was clutch alignment as the 250's mounting hardware was located 3/4" different than the Sport frame. The exhaust and shifting rod had to be modified also, and you need to look at the wire connectors to make sure they will connnect up - and connect with the right configuration.

 

why would u put a 250 engine in a 400 frame? im confused here

 

The engine on my SP400 tossed the balance shaft through the front - got the Sport 400 for peanuts - pulled the engine out of the Sport, slapped it in the Sportsman. Had an old TB250 that the tranny was junk - so, why not??
Just recently traded the bastard Sport even for a '95 Scrammy 4X4, rebuilt the tranny in it, stuck the clutches that originally came off the old TB to get it rolling - Well, I think I actually came out ahead putting the 250 into the 400 frame - don't you?
