Default 400 Sport Counterbalance overfill impact?

Ok. I went to check the oil level in my counterbalance. Wished I wouldn't had. The end of the dipstick is broken off inside the case! However, I guessed at the oil level and how much I needed to add. Went for a small ride recently. Noticed when I was done and just looking over the bike at the end of any ride, I noticed oil around the cylinder head. Figured it was coming out the overflow from the counterbalance? I know it is not blowing by the screw where you add. It is clean and dry. Should I be concerned about anything? I've tried removing the dipstick and have not had any luck doing so. How should I remove the dipstick?

Overfilling it is no big deal ,it will just come out of the overflow. But having a piece of dipstick in there is not good. You have a gear on the crank and a gear on the counterbalancer. It only holds 70cc's.

I've tried just about everything trying to get it out. Needle nose pliers, screw driver, pinchers, and so on. I can't get my maget close enough to it. I know what you are saying about the teeth on the gears and so on. That is why I know I need to get it out.

Maybe you could try and get a magnet from a local parts store, the one that extends like an antenae. It will need to be pretty small.

Good idea-thanks. The magnet extension I have now is a rectangle head.
