They are right it is like night and day! It all depends on how much more power your looking for and if you want auto or manual?

Are you interested in learning how? What do you ride the most (Trails Mud etc) What all do you want to do with your next ATV?

i have a 1999 250 trail blazer and love it like it does way better in the tough woods then a manual shift and some other times but i still love to hope on a pred, 400ex and other manaul shift quads there fun to play with in fields and flat ares poping the clutch and riding wheelies like in 3rd gear and keeping them up into 4th. and double clutching around the corners and so on so your best bet is to find somone that has a manual shift and borrow it for a day and see how u like it.

If want to spend the extra $$$ you may want to step up to a Sportsman 400, 500, 600, 700 or the new EFI.

If you want a fast sporty 4wd go with the scrambler...

If you want a a really fast pure sport quad go with the predator...
