Default Hitch on 500 HO

Let me start by saying this will be my first ATV so excuse my
ignorance on what I am getting ready to ask. I will soon be
buying a new 500 HO and was curious about the hitch setup
on it. I've noticed that the Artic Cat comes with a 2" truck style
receiver hitch. I've not notice this being offered on the Polaris?
The reason I ask is I was thinking of going with a Louisiana Guard
Dog setup: Picture. Does Polaris
offer the 2" truck style receiver hitch?

you can get a ball for it form canadian tire or any ware, if you get one with the arctic cat big deal, they are going to overcahage you far a BALL HITCH $$. which you can get for any sore for half the price, But you do get a hole in the hitch on the 4 Wheelr ware the ball mounts to k. 2" or whatever size you what

Default Hitch on 500 HO

Gooseman,
I JUST put one on my 400 Sportsman that I got from Cabelas.

Cabela's Hitch

On the Polaris, there are 2 holes on the trailer hitch that is welded at the factory. This Cabela's hitch uses both of those holes to mount up and then it is ready to accept a draw bar, or a Guard Dog in your case. Look at my Pics and you'll see that I have a Hitch Hauler Rack installed on mine where my Labrador can hang in his kennel.

The only issue I had with my 400 and I think it is specific to a new 400, not a 500, is that I had to have a 45 degree cut made at the back edge of the hitch to allow for transfer case clearance. My draw bar already has a little angle to it so as it protrudes through the backside of the receiver, it clears the transfer case. Again, this is specific to a 400 I think as the shape of the 500's case is a tiny bit different.
