The reason I'm posting this is my 4rth gear in my tranny blew. And I would like anyone that has had a similiar problem to post their experience, (call it a soap box if you will). I just need some ideas of what happened to you & your bikes cause I dropped mine off last week to get looked at and repaired. Plus I've seen plenty of threads in other places about tranny probs but I don't think they're as big as this forum. THX in advance.

 

from what i read on here and heard is that the 03 predator had a good size trans prob and that they fixed it on teh 2004's

 

Yeah, people have had problems with 4th gear, and I belive polaris has upgraded the gear with an update...ask your dealer!

 

I talked with the dealer/mechanic when I dropped off the bike about an updated or upgraded gear and they said it's the same one that came w/it new . He also said that it's not the first one that's come to his store w/ a broken tranny. I just feel that if there are a good amount of these w/ problems which there seem to be, Polaris should offer an improved part for those that are broken and cover the cost of the part once. Kinda like a recall of sorts but you can replace the part only if it's broke. I mean the 03 owners took a chance buying a first year/first run bike (something I've never done until now) and no matter how much promotion a company pushes there is no better advertising for a new bike than your customers. Hopefully they wil help us 03's out so that we can ride w/ the 04's [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] and not leave it to rest just because they redisgned the tranny in the new bike . they did update the 04's and they do offer an updated gear for the 03... they just changed the part number on the 03's to the 04 number so your dealer didnt notice...
