ATP questions
#11
Thanks for all the responses. I took my Dad up to a multi dealer (Honda, Polaris Suz, Kawi and Yami) this weekend. We test drove a 500ATP, Sportsman 400, Kawi 650 camo (leftover) and a Yamaha Bruin. My Dad really liked the ATP but did mention the small box compared to the 6X. All the bikes were really nice, I was surprised how much easier the Polaris's were to steer than the others even the ATP. The Kawi 650 was really nice decked out in the Camo, but my Dad just didn't like the feel of it, he said he felt like he was stretching his arms out to reach the bars. Well anyway the big decision factor was price and trade-in. The dealer wanted to give us $1700.00 for the 6X. No way, it is in to good of shape to only get $1700.00. So he decided to keep the 6X and ruled out the ATP. On the way home we was really talking about how he loved the ride and comfort of the SP400. So when we got back to my house I let him take out my SP700. I told him they are basically the same except for the power difference. He came back about a 1/2 later grinning from ear to ear. So needless to say, they are prepping the new SP400 for pick -up this week. Package includes the winch, and rack extenders $5400.00 out the door. I'm glad he got to look at all these different machines and picked the perfect one for him and the price range he wanted. Thanks for all the help guys.

I have an ATP. I bought it as soon as they were avaliable, always got to be different that is why I still own a 3-wheeler. I love my ATP ! It is very versitale, from hunting, fishing and working around the farm they ride pretty much like a Sportsman. It is great weight capacity and with the factory hitch you can pull up 1225 lbs. The only way that I would trade it off, would be for the same thing in a 700 model. Could say lots more but fingers getting tired. For anyone that uses there ATV alot this would be the machine to have.
