Barlett it may only be 1", but when that 1" smacks the tree it will be a big deal. lol [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] I've got places that I ride now that my raptor fit through no problem, but I'm gritting my teeth and closing my eyes on my Pred. An extra inch for me would have me over the bars on the ground about two or three feet scratching my head wondering what happened. lol. And add a 55lbs weight to the top of your DS and see if it makes a big difference.

 

BTW, for my part, nothing wrong with a Baja. I didn't buy it mostly because of the price... previous owner was pretty proud of a used '03 Baja. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

It's actually the wt transfer raises the front, and drops the front wheels in their arc of travel. Both nice machines, go ride them both then pic for yourself. Pred is more at home in the woods, and the DS is more at home on the dunes/baja. Both will work all around thought too. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

The ds is faster in a drag on pavement but not by much, on a track or in the woods the pred is much better

Faster at what... drag racing? WTF cares really... not me, at least.

They're both great quads. Very similar in straight line performance, both have their weak and strong points. If you can't have fun on either of these quads, there's no hope for you.
