800cc is the limit in most states, otherwise its considered an off highway vehicle!

600cc. I think that they can just make them more powerful if they want. instead of just going bigger.

I ride because it is just cooler to be outdoors. It gives a different thrill than driving a car. I think 700-800cc is way too much, and all the companies should limit their selves there.

It all boils down to common sense, how often does a person need more power than a 500 or 600? Although I would like too see more twins in the future due to the fact they would be smoother and more responsive. Motorcycles have four cylinder 600s why can’t a quad have a 500 twin that is tuned more towards trail riding then all out speed?

Well, as long as Yamaha, ( The 660 Rapter is near the same weight as the Warrior and will out-perform the Warrior hands down)Polaris, (The 700 engine is no heavier than the 500 engine and will certainly out-perform the 500 engine) and other manufacturers continue to keep ATV's at near the same total weight with better performance, then keep them coming!
Example: Why buy a 300-400 class machine, add After-market parts (Appx.500-1000 bucks)just to out-perform a bone-stock 500-700cc machine that weighs in at the same weight? The motorcycle industry has continually enlarged the displacement, horse power, and speed of their machines. I think it will be good for the ATV market to flex their muscles and show consumers that they have some new high-performance and Hi-tech products coming out too. Later Polcat

I would say, for utility, 600 4stroke, like the sportsman, but lower, I cant stress that enough!

as for sport machines, how about a 8.4 liter v-10? no really, id stick with a 420 banshee.
