OK, I have the Maint book as well. The picture of the drain plug looks nothing like under my ATV. The only thing I can find is a plug at the bottom that looks like where the drain plug would be but it requires and allen wrench. Is this the right place?? The book shows a spout coming out with the plug on the end. I can not find anything like that.

It is a 6mm allen plug on my 03 700, be careful not to lose the washer when you take the plug out. I don't know about a "spout", the plug is on the bottom of the crankcase.
