casamayfield55, Hi there, read about you wanting to take your 5 year old to Pismo, I think you will love it. I have some pictures of my girls playing in the water and riding on the beach at pismo. They are not the greatest pictures though, had to shrink them to get them excepted. Next time we go, I'll make the adjustments on the camera. Anyways, when you make it, I'm sure you will have a great time. Dan

Nice pics TreeDoc.I might have to copy your trailer idea. Not to be picky but you should add a chain to the design. Now that you are sitting ABOVE the trailer rails,a quick swerve and that strap might go.Ive seen it happen.I knew a guy who added 2 pieces of chain(cut to fit).Anchor to your new framework at the center of your quad..Bring one chain forward and one chain rearward.Find a solid attaching points on the quad and use a quick link chain end.Not wanting to be pushy, just trying to save your atv .Scott.

Thanks for the idea, Scott! I think that would be a good insurance policy and very easy to implement. I question those ratchet straps sometimes and generally double them up. The anchor points are there and there are plenty of spots on the frame to attach it to, I'll get on that tomorrow.

TreeDoc, glad I could help.Theres nothing like a little piece of mind. Now remember that your chains dont have to be real tight.Let the quad move 1-2 inches if need be.If you attach real tight it will be a pain to unhook them.Just give the chains that 1-2 inch margin and unhooking will be a breeze.Remember that youll still have to use straps with this "loose" chain method.Scott.
