sticky throttle on 99' Scrambler
#1
Anybody else have a sticky throttle? I talked to the dealer and he said there is a recall, but the recall only includes the cap and o-ring to the thumb throttle assembly. I left the machine and asked him to call Polaris and see if they would warranty the cable itself because of the leak from the o-ring and cap, hopefully they will seeing as how the cable cost just around $90.00

Mine was sticking on my 99 400 sport and I cleaned and lubbed the cable, now it works great.
Get a cable lubbing tool (sorry I forgot the offical name of the tool.)it's not very expensive tool, worth having.
Later Rictor.

I just bought a 99 400 scrambler polaris hold over. Actually it,s the wifes but the first time it seen any mud or water there went the cable. Harder then pulling a set of triples on a sled. Plus it stuck at half throttle and the etc switch did not work !!!!!!!! I brought it in and the dealer had it for a week did not do a thing to it but they say polaris will not warrenty the cable, PISSID ME OFF!!!!!! Kinda a accedent waiting to happen don,t you think. Well i bought a cable and will be replacing it myself. So i can say that i was not real happy with there answer. I did oil the cable up and that did help some so mayby i can save the old one for a spare, The cable lube is called CABLE LIFE. PJ1 MAkes a great kit i,ve been told Try it it might work.
