WOW. All I did was tell my dealer rep I was fixin to drive to Chattanooga for a 700 and SHAZZAM, all of a sudden we were working from dealer cost up, instead of sticker down. In Illinois, you will have to pay sales tax to get a title. Just like a car. I know when I do this I will hear about 700 other better deals, but it saved me from 2 days driving, so here it is. Price 6374, freight 75, prep 95, 6544 before trade and tax. 39 doc fee, 30 title fee, 2600 trade for my mag and out the door was 4271.9. Apparently its a 2004.5, it had the digital fuel gage. Still takin it easy, but that twin really sounds good at half throttle...

Hey what do yall think?
I have been shopping around trying to see if I would be better off driving 1 1/2 days to Chattanooga and I found a dealer trying to sell me the 2004 Scrambler 500 4x4 & Predator 90 Troy Lee out the door total $8399
I figure driving to Chattanooga I would end up paying a total of about $700 gas, food, lodging + $7200 = $7900 + hidden sales tax once i return.
What do yall think? Is $8399 otd a good deal in yalls opinion compared to what yall paid?

There is no way I would drive 1 and 1/2 days and waste 3 days of my vacation for $500 but that is me. That price does not sound bad. What dealer is offing this deal?
I know Normangee is a good dealer who is quite competitve.

Weedy dealer would be
Gene's Polaris Country
in Baytown 800-544-0694
genespolaris.com
Just made a deal for a
2004 Predator 90 Troy Lee
2004 Scrambler 500 4x4
OTD = $8220.00
Im happy enough with that, after travel expenses to TN I am only out $317 (I can live with that)
I'll pick them up Friday
Time to get excited.
This will be our first ATV's. anything I should know other than reading the owners manuals?

Sounds like a good deal. THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD DRIVE THAT FAR FOR $317!!! I have been to Gene's and it is a nice - huge Polaris dealership. He offers riding classes there also if you are interested.
Break-in: 1/2 throttle and vary the throttle at different RPMs for the first couple of hours of riding time (normally one tank full of gas). Do not let your 500 idle for long periods of time until borken in. Change the engine oil at 20 hours then annually and grease the swing arm bushing and everything when you go through water - that is it. I have had three Polaris machine and all have been top notch machines!
Ensure your kid wears a helmet and long pants when riding for safety.
Insurance may be a good thing. Merkel (offered through Polaris) is who I use. It paid off BIG for me when I totaled my machine.
If you are looking for a trailer the Trailer Man off of Kuykendahl offeres excellent deals.
That is all I can think of...enjoy the machines.

Polaris of Chattanooga is definatley the best deal you'll find. I tried offering them lower but Dave laughed at me and said I guarantee no one will beat our price, he was right. The dude that owns Polaris of Chatt also owns like 3 car dealerships in Chattanooga and has buco $$$. The secret is he buys all his Polaris and Triumph bikes in bulk. That's why he get's such a good deal on them and can sell them so cheap.
Very satisfied customer of a 03 Sportsman 500 Mossy Oak, if I ever get out of debt I am going back for a 700. LOL

Does Chattanooga give you a title or a MCO (Manufactor certificate of orgin) If its an MCO, I heard that you cant get insurance on your quad, you need the title to do that.
Anybody heard about the 2 free year warranty on polaris quads as an option since we cant get the free winch on the scrammy as an free option.
