I heard 18 somewhere is this tru my old honda 300 was 17 and i hear the new SP 700 is 48 or so this doessnt sound right........

The 500 is right around 18 so your close.

 

I think I read in dirtwheels mag the hp is 32 hope this helps.

I got those numbers from Dirtwheels.Some of the other models were as follows 335sp 22hp 400expl 36hp 500scr 36hp.This is engine hp not rear wheel hp.

 

32 would be closer to right than 18.

 

my old 225 DX 3 wheeler had 12. so i am sure that the SP puts out a little more than 6 more HP.

Check out the SP500 graph for a DynoJet carb kit. It boosts (REAR-WHEEL) Horse-Power from 18.5, up too 20.

That is right.....20HP!!!

There are only 2 "stock" quads that make over 30 rwHP, and they are the Banshee and DS650.

Check out GT Thunder and look at the 500 Scrambler dyno graph. With Hot-Seat exhaust it makes 29HP.
Stock Sport 400L is 28HP.

Thank you cstark, I was hoping someone would set it correct instead of all the hoping.
If these things were into the 30+ HP range, they would be outrunning the 400EX, now you see why I laugh when I read this stuff.
