loud clunking noise....does it sound like it's coming from the chain? Does it do it when idling? If you jack up the back end and put it in gear and let it run does it do it?

What kind of clunking noise? Does it click or thump? Does it speed up when you ride faster?

Describe it better

I also have a 2000 Trail Blazer and i also heard a loud clunking sound coming from the back end, we took it in to the shop and we found out that the chain gaurd was bent, but the good thing is that it only costed like $5 to get a new chain gaurd. And i haven't heard the noise since.

ok, check your chain. Mine was doing the exact same thing. well, my 300EX..

Just when going forward, and not when it's jacked up.

I had a bad link in my chain. Check it out

My TrailBoss did the same thing I got a new chain and sprockets and it stopped. Except they shouldnt wear that fast unless you ride like everyday. Check your sprockets to see how badly worn they are.

I had to have the chain replaced on my 2000 Xplorer 250 4x4. The did it under warranty. it was also making a banging noise it fixed it for a while. but it came back so i traded it in.
