I would suggest a chain tensioner to do anything big. Also dont gas it in the air too much.

those scrammy's can take some real abuse!! I wouldn't worry about jumping it, just remember that it is a 500# machine.

and once you start jumpign big and your rear shock is bottoming out give it a couple turns or so to make the shock stiffer other tehn that there pretty good for jumping just that it weighs to much

Don't listen to thse guys <even though I like them they may not know The flaws this quad has once you start jumping it. I have a 2000 2x4 400(was a 4x4) I have jumped it more then anyone I have ever seen a any polaris.
Let me also tell you that I'm on my 3rd frame.I have broke all 3 of these frames because of jumping. They all were fixed up a gusseted but that don't matter because it wil still brake. Now mine you,I'am jumping these things pretty high and they have seen more air time then most small planes. If small jumps are only going to be done then,it will take the abuse!if bigger jumps are to be done then think about gussets and better Shocks.
One other thing that has happend from jumping is,The rear swingarm bushing wear out and I even had the whole bolt come loose. If the swingarm gets even a little loose IT CAN BRAKE THE TRANNY CASE!! I've seen this more then once!
Here is whatI have found from jumping!!!!!!!
1st- the frame brakes at the swingarm bolt on the right side just where the bolt support meets the frame(sprocket side)
2nd- the frame rail that the ati-freeze res is on brakes off at the bottom(the rail the air duct is on up front)
3rd- the upper engine support-Broke off the frame, making the gas tank move.
4th-the tranny support-At the rear of the tranny under the shock
5th-the front strut/shock support-The frame part up to that holds the whole strut in place--It started to spilt apart
6th-the frame broke at the front support that is under the oil tank.also it is the front shock support.

There is many more but these are the ones rthat have happend to more then one frame.
Unless you are into spending money then I wouldn't suggest jumping it big. It will handle little jumps but always keep the flaws in mine.
It is only luck that I didn't kll myself jumping that quad the way I did.
If you want to jump Polaris's Jump a PREDATOR it's made for it!!
Thanks
Matt

hey thanks for the help everybody. I don't plan on taking any huge jumps, mainly small ones, so i figure my scrambler will handle it. Im glad that i have a list of things that i should keep watch for, though. Thanks again.
