I would think so but not by much... It probably has better throttle response and a better torque curve...

for 04 all the bugs are worked out the trannies are shifting fine, they handel very well i was told by a guy that now has a pred and a yfz and he says stock for stock he thinks the pred handled better with zero bump steer wide and low... you really don't even need reverse with the pred it can really turn on a dime, i am not trying to say the pred is perfect because they all have problems but for the money you get, top of the line: tires, rims, axle etc..

The pred transmission no longer drops 3rd gear, thats true, but the forks still have a problem finding neutral.

That is an easy fix my friend. Adjust your clutch the stock setting the clutch stays engaged just a little, adjust it and you can find neutral easily

getting back to the topic about the EFI vs 700 top speed. i would have to agree with trailrider500.

i don't ride these things at top speed so i can't tell ya first hand.

i do have a MUCH better running ATV and MUCH better mpg.

reliability has been FLAWLESS!!

I haven't raced a carb 700 with my EFI. But the EFI "feels" faster on take off. I haven't toped it out yet because I am still breaking it in. But like MT said......it is a much better over all quad. Just a touch of the gas and she moves. I know I had to give my old 700 alot to get it to go, then there was a loud pop sound. All gone!
