Who really cares which is faster or which one is a more capable puller. It doesn't matter. They're both AWESOME machines. All the big bores are. The differences between them are few. The Prairie is a little faster, the Polaris is set up more for utility work, that's well established.

I'd be more than happy with any of them and I can hardly wait to see the new SP800.

If you want a quad to pull, get one of those POS Polaris Diesels. Otherwise, the P-700 outshines ine SP700 in the majority of trail and sport riding catagories. Not all, but most.

This HAS been an amusing thread. I got my 700 Sportsman in July of last year and I have yet to win at an organized drag racing event, even after K&N filter, white primary spring & mbrp 'silencer'. Best I can remember, it was a Kawi that eliminated me in all but one of those events. I will NEVER say my sportsman is quicker than the Kawis. Earlier this year I got to try organized pulling for the first time & took second in class, beaten by a Prarie with aftermarket cdi, full aftermarket exhaust and ? At the time of that event my 700 was dealership stock except for the ITP wheels. My final pull was less than 6 ft shy of the winning Kawi, but several yards ahead of the 3rd place (less modded) Prarie. This leads me to THINK a pure stock Polaris 700(and maybe even 600) can outpull a pure stock Prarie due to being heavier. That guy who beat me in the pull had already beaten me several times in drags & mud races. He recently traded his hot-rod Prarie for a new BF and eliminated me in the first round drag racing this past Saturday then went on to win the class. We'll likely pull against each other again Saturday after next and I'll give an honest report on that contest, but I'll be using K&N, mbrp & white primary spring next time. Final thought, the only machine I've got to hook my 700 back to back with was a Bomb ATP. Neither of us moved an inch forward, but we both went straight DOWN a few inches

Finally got some Polaris to pull at my pulls, had a few 500's, a 600 and two 700's one EFI and one carbed.

One of the 700's was a dealer sponsored bike and the other was a bike that travels around pulling in quite a few pulls. If looks would win a pull these bikes took first place.

These bikes did fairly well in the stock classes, 2nd and thirds, but in the improved classes they were outclassed by bikes with more power.

Considering trying luck at pulls.. 01 Explorer 400 lil bit of this, lil bit of that...504 cc 91 HP.
Having problems with front axles not handling power, maybe Gorillas..Any Ideas On tires? I have no idea what to run, Large paddles throw dirt in front of the sled, so im guessing a shaved paddle with low pressure? Power is not a problem, traction seems to be.
