New tires for scrambler 4x4??
hey, I was looking to get new tires for my scrammy. Now i heard with the 4wd this can get complicated...i wanted more of a boxy type tire for wheelies and more holeshot traction..(like mx tires) but the way the 4 wheel drive works, the front tires have to like pair up with the rear or you can blow somthing up (hah, yeahh..i have no idea what im saying). BUT anyway...if anyone has any info they can give me, it would be a great help, thanks

A few months back i bought some Shredder tires for my Scrammy 4X4. They have awesome hook-up, and they still work fine for 4wd.They are more boxy than stock tires. As long as you keep the front tires 1 inch taller than the rears, any tires should work. The shredder tires work great on trails and in pits that i ride in, and im sure they works good for other terrains also.

what about these...they look pretty sick http://www.ronnies.com/store/page119.html I thought i heard some1 say once that the tires on a 4wheel drive have to match up in the front and back cause if the front spin faster then the back you can blow your front differentual...i could be completly wrong but i dont know...

Those holeshots are pretty good two, basicly the same idea... I went with the shredders because they are a little more aggresive and not quite as expensive. The front and rear shredders are pretty much the same, other than the center ridge. I have never heard of blowing the front differential because of different tire treads, but don't trust me because I am not too familiar with front differentails...I don't undersand how the front could spin faster than the backs either..but i am sure it is possible.. Check around and see for sure, but mine still works after about 3 months of riding just make sure that the fronts are 1 inch taller than the backs and you should be fine

all you have to do is to maintain a 1" bigger tire in the front than in the back. If you go with a 20 rear then drop to a 21 front.
BTW has anyone found a good agressive tire in the stock 22" size??? I need better back tires but I don't want to give up any ground clearance

if they are that close to stock, I will wait till I burn up the stockers and put those on. I was hopin someone knew of a holeshot type tire in the 22" range, cause I need some better hook up in the loamy sandy stuff we have out here in the desert. Thanks BBS
