changing the primary spring will make it engage quicker meaning it will take off alot faster when u hit the gas, for u bisho12 i would go with a Green Primary Spring, your 400 has a white spring in it right now. it wont make it engage like crazy but will give it much better performance, so u can ride with your kids, but still have fun by yourself.

Thanks Dirtripper. Do I change it the same way as someone stated above? Is there anything I have to watch out for?

What does it do to give better performance?

Thanks Again.

dirtripper1,

Yeah, I knew that about the X. On Skidoo it is a line I think.

The price of the springs are $20 from about any place you go so I would just find a shop that had one in stock and save the shipping.

I did talk to them today. He seemed to think instead of a green spring, I should go with a whole new clutch setup...nice idea, so long as he buys it for me.

With a stock 4stroke the white is perfect .I have green in a modded 400 2stroke Sportsman and it is fine. And of course they want you to get the whole kit .But try you a white spring first and tell us what you think.
