Default upgrading a scrambler 500

Any one know if the AAEN stage 4 kit or the FST 600 kit will effect the top speed of the scrammie 500 and if so how much faster or slower? Any one out there using the comet hpq 103 clutch, how well does it work, what cam lobes and springs did you use with it?

Figured for my first post, I would have to try and wrench you guys with a good one!

It makes a ton of torque(from what i hear), they really wont help top speed much maybe a little thats if its a 4x4 if its 2x4 you can change gear ratios then top speed will change...

If your going all out go with the FST 600 kit...

BTW, welcome to the forums...

From what I hear, Mickey Dunlap builds his motors for torque. The FST 600 kit was designed for the GNCC races where torqu is what you want. It wont have any problem lifting the front end up. In fact, the guy that I know with the FST600 kit claims that he now needs a longer swingarm to keep the front end down. You could give Mickey a call and see if he can build the motor fo more top end as well as low and mid

Talked to Mike @ four stoke tech.... he recommended the fst 628 kit and quoted a price for everything except a longer swing arm at $1345 in case anyone else is interested in it.... he said you would want to put atleast a prolly 1" ext swing arm on it.... said it would beat the raptors and banshees all around and get you there a whole lot faster... LOL.... it would take a while and wouldnt quote turn around time right now... Now to decide ride it this summer the way it is and send it in, in the fall or take a year off riding and get it in now..... I cant see not riding it this summer.. Might have to change my name next spring to Sidewinder628..... thxs for the help BBS

The only probelm with the 628 vs. the 600 kit, is that with the 628 kit you need to split the cases and have them machined out to make room for the stroker crank of the 628. You also have to have the cylinder sleeved for the new piston. The stroker crank of the 600 kit will clear the cases, and the cylinder can be bored for the piston. No sleeve needed. With the 600 kit you can also run Premium gas. The 628 kit needs a mix of race gas and premium (at least 100 octane I believe) So there are a few of these things to consider as well

If you really plan to do this get some real numbers for us. If you can at least get top speed and 100 and 300 foot time from stock to modded would be good. If you could come up with dyno numbers for both that would be great.
