Default Oil Filter Alternatives??

Holy **it! I just bought my first oil/filter products for my 2004 Trail Boss 330 and shelled out about $25 (for 2 qts PS4 and a filter, PN 3084963). No problem with the oil price, I guess, but the filter thing has to change next time around. Is there a decent alternative filter (FRAM, whatever...) that you could recommend?

I paid close to $13 for the damn filter, and that's not right. Also, this may be an old topic on this forum, but for the sake of several rookies here, like me, any advice would be appreciated again. Thanks.....

Look on the Wix filters site for the Wix filter #. Take that number to Napa and have them cross reference it. Wix makes the Napa Gold filters. The one that I use (Napa Gold #1358) may very well be the same as yours. Just double check with Napa. I only pay about $8 for it

Thanks for the tip on Wix filters. I'll try this, but I was hoping for a "common" filter manufacturer (Fram..., etc) since my hometown is a one-horse metropolis and may not have options as you describe. But then, there's always the Internet!!

Once you get the Wix #, you can try and cross reference it with any local autoparts stores in your area
