what does the secondary spring do?
#1
I installed a HSP kit in my brothers 500 scrammy, and when we put in the secondary spring in I noticed it was alot longer, and softer then the origional spring. what is the purpose? and when we preloaded the spring it said just turn 1/8 turn, and to make sure that it is in the #2 holes. The quad seems to accelerate alot better, but the top-end seems to have suffered.
Any suggestion?

Your secondary clutch mainly controls the back shift and belt pressure.2-2 is a good stiff shift but could cause you to loose topend.TRy 1-1 and see if it has a better topend.

How come the stock spring almost takes 2 people to "preload" the two seperat discs, and the HSP prings was so soft? Whats the purpose of this? and after wards I notice theat on decelleration the belt squeals.
